We love creating clean, safe, prosperous, connected communities through education, resourcing, and developing new and improving old solutions to our current community problems.
The first step in environmental change should be to ensure that everywhere has proper waste collection bins and proper systems for what becomes of waste. Establish the basics in our community the how to: Recycle♻️ Reduce♻️ Reuse♻️ something we all can do if the systems are in place.
The Fort Langley Parks Canada building still has garbage cans. We are working on a bill to get all parks in Canada to change over to proper bins!
Still, most municipalities have not changed over to proper waste collection bins. YLC is proposing to make this a private bill to change that!
Currently, most schools in BC still only have garbage cans on the playgrounds and field areas around the schools. We are working on changing that with the help of local students!
Studies have shown that crime increases in areas that allow standing vandalism and graffiti around their community. That means a clean community equals a safer community! Your Local Community promotes when you SEE IT - REPORT IT - OR REMOVE IT! It takes seconds to vandalize and minutes to clean!
Having a See it - Report it - Remove it system in place through a community partnerships approach alongside a similar Adopt-A-Street program allows us all to be part of the solution in keeping our communities safer and cleaner!
Your Local Community is always looking for partners to help build these programs to create positive environmental change.
